FIFA World Cup qualifying rounds take place over the three years between games, and competition is aggressive for the 32 final positions. The competition is the highpoint of international soccer and it brings together fanatics from all over the world in diverse locations every four years. The games are often intense, and millions of people watch on TV with national pride at stake.
The early years of the World Cup
The first World Cup Contest was held in Uruguay in 1930, with teams from South America, Europe, and North America contending.
After that, there were many years when no World Football Cup was held due to the Second World War. However, the World Cup struggled to look for sufficient teams who were willing and able to afford an international competition every four years.
According to soccer historians, logistics made traveling with a team difficult, and the many wars and battles throughout most of European and South American countries diminished the enthusiasm of fans to make the trip to watch their nation compete. Moreover, the outbreak of World War II caused it to be annulled in 1942 and 1946.
How the competition has evolved
After World War II ended up, soccer and the World Cup turned more popular than ever. Europe and South America dominated the contest, and typically had an easy time defeating the few teams who competed from North America and Africa.
In 1982 FIFA expanded the contest to include 32 teams, which permitted more teams from outside of Europe and South America to participate.
There have been more and more teams qualifying and contending well from every corner around the world. As the event has expanded gaining more media attention, and smaller nations have experienced more success, the worldwide fame has grown in a significant way.
During the different World Cup editions, Brazil has been the only nation involved in every single FIFA World Cup Tournament since 1930. Even tough, other countries like Germany, Italy and France have had a great participation through the time.
World Cup 2022
The 2022 FIFA Football World Cup Qatar (Arabic: كأس العالم لكرة القدم قطر 2022) will be the 22nd edition of the men's World Cup organized by FIFA. This edition will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar.
This will be the third time that the FIFA World Cup will be held on the Asian continent after the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan and Russia 2018 (although the latter had only one venue on Asian territory), and the first to be held in West Asia, given the Eurasian location enjoyed by the previous host, Russia.
In addition, for the first time, the tournament will take place in the Middle East, in an Arab country with a Muslim majority, as well as the smallest territorial extension.
It will also be the World Cup with the longest lead time since 1950 compared to its previous edition, as it will take place between November and December 2022, as opposed to the usual months of June and July.
At the same time, it will be the shortest World Cup since 1978, as it will last only 28 days, as opposed to the usual 32 days in recent editions.
In April 2018, Conmebol requested to FIFA that the Qatar 2022 World Cup should already have 48 participating teams, which is planned 2026 World Cup.
In July of the same year, Gianni Infantino stated that the decision could be in the hands of the organizing committee.
On March 16, 2019, FIFA had issued a statement in which it affirmed the possibility that the Qatar 2022 World Cup would have a total of 48 participants.
However, on May 22, 2019, at the meeting of the FIFA Council, officially, finally ruled out the expansion for logistical reasons, for not arriving in time for the organization, which will be ready for the next World Cup in Canada, the United States and Mexico 2026.
Tickets will be sold in January: Qatar World Cup 2022 to begin ticket sales in January
FIFA is preparing the process to sell tickets for the tournament to be held in November next year. FIFA is preparing to start selling tickets for the 2022 World Cup in January while still trying to learn more about Qatar's plan to make coronavirus vaccinations mandatory for spectators.
Soccer's governing body only learned of the vaccination requirement over the weekend when it was announced in state media by Qatari Prime Minister Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. FIFA did not say whether it agreed to the plan or would discuss the logistics behind checking the vaccination status of the thousands of visiting fans.
"Further details will be provided at the appropriate time prior to the start of ticket sales for the World Cup in Qatar, which is scheduled for January 2022," FIFA said in a statement issued to The Associated Press, providing the first timeline for the sales.
Ten of the 12 qualifying European selections will be announced in January. Instead of kicking off in June as usual, this World Cup will begin on November, 21st next year to avoid the country's severe summer heat.
FIFA did not say whether vaccinations would be obligatory for players and other officials in Qatar, where full stadiums are planned. Khalid said Qatar was trying to acquire one million doses to offer to unvaccinated fans planning to travel to the event.

"FIFA takes note of the plan announced by the prime minister of Qatar and appreciates the host country's continued efforts to provide the best possible conditions for fans attending the 2022 World Cup, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic," FIFA said in the statement.
"In all of these matters, we will continue to work closely with our partners, while also monitoring how the situation evolves globally."
Unlike previous World Cups, there will be no need for fans to fly around the country for matches. Qatar has built eight stadiums for the tournament, all near the capital Doha.
How to bet on the World Cup
The first decision to make is to decide your maximum budget. How much you want to spend on betting if you want to gamble on soccer or other sports like cricket? Choose an amount you can afford. This amount, known as your cash, will vary widely depending on your income.
Be honest with yourself about how much money you can invest in betting on any sport. No matter if it is football, soccer, cricket or any other.
When deciding how much your cash should be, you will need to recognize that it is possible to lose it all. On the one hand, a very high budget can result in personal bankruptcy.
A very low budget, on the other hand, will limit your ability to reap big rewards from gambling. The "rule of thumb" for a beginner's maximum budget is $1000. It is not recommended to gamble on soccer unless you have sufficient funds.
Once you have decided how much money you must spend on betting, you will need to decide how much you want to spend per bet. This amount is known as your betting unit size. Do not invest your entire budget in a single bet.
You run the risk of losing it all at once. Conservative or new bettors should bet about 1-2% of their budget on a single bet. For example, if you have $1000, you might spend $10 on a single bet.
Veteran bettors can wager 3% of their budget on a well-founded bet and our maximum bet unit size should not exceed 5% of your budget. Now, place your bet. Choose the match or team you want to bet on. Once you have registered on the betting website or logged into the casino, place a bet on a match or team you like. Do not bet all your money on a single outcome or match from any sport, like soccer or cricket.
Spread your risk by betting on multiple games. Limiting your maximum bet will increase your chances of winning. The "rule of thumb" for a beginner's maximum is $50. If you lose, be prepared to fold no matter how tempted you are to continue. You do not want to keep losing even more. Know when to fold. If you win, do not get carried away.
Enjoy what you have won by collecting your winnings and coming back later. Set specific guidelines for success in soccer betting. Your goals should be realistic and achievable.
For example, you may decide to collect your money when you have won more than $100. Then, set rules to prevent excessive losses. For example, you can decide that if you lose more than $100 in a soccer or cricket game, you will stop betting and wait for another day to try again.
